Crown Prince Uigyeong or "'Deokjong of Joseon"' or Prince Dowon(Korean: 의경세자, 1438 - 1457) was a crown prince of the Korean Joseon Dynasty. He was the eledest grandson of King Sejong the Great , eldest son of seventh King Sejo of Joseon and father of ninth King Seongjong of Joseon.He was titled as Prince Dowon until his father's accession to the throne. In 1450,he married daughter of Han Hwak, a diplomat and Politician who served as Left or Second State Councillor which is equivalent to Vice Prime Minister during the era of his father, King Sejo.Later, Han Hwak 's daughter was known as Grand Queen Dowager Insoo . He was posthusmously honoured as "'Deokjong of Joseon"' when his son, King Seongjong became King in 1469 and his wife was honoured as Grand Queen Sohye , later known as Grand Queen Dowager Insoo , who was co-regent of Joseon Dynasty from 1469 to 1477, along with her mother-in-law, Queen Jeonghee , wife of King Sejo . He and Grand Queen Dowager Insoo had two sons, Grand Prince Wolsan (1454-1487), King Seongjong (1457-1494) and an unknown daughter.
