Dantooine is a fictional planet in the Star Wars universe. It is known for first being depicted in the 1977 film Star Wars. In the film, the character of Princess Leia, after being held captive aboard the Death Star, lies to Grand Moff Tarkin about the location of the Rebel base and says, "Dantooine. They're on Dantooine."[1]

The Dantooine Rebel base was the first base used by the Alliance to restore the Republic following the Corellian Treaty. The base was later moved to a moon, Yavin 4, of the planet Yavin.

The Dantooine system contained the star Dina and the planet of Dantooine.
