Dave Roman is an American writer and artist of webcomics and comics.

Career

Roman is the co-creator of Jax Epoch and the Quicken Forbidden (AiT/Planet Lar), a Harvey Award-nominated webcomic. He also co-created Teen Boat (Cryptic Press), an Ignatz Award-winning webcomic. Both were with artist John Green.

He has contributed to comics anthologies including Flight 3, Not My Small Diary, and Bizarro World for DC Comics. Astronaut Elementary was his weekly webcomic which was awarded a Web Cartoonists' Choice Award for Outstanding New Character Design in 2005. It is being published as a series of graphic novels under the name Astronaut Academy. In October 2006 his comic Agnes Quill was published by Slave Labor Graphics and in 2008 it was optioned by Paramount Pictures.[1] He has also designed a CD cover for the wizard rock band Harry and the Potters.

Roman is married to Raina Telgemeier (artist of graphic novel adaptations of The Baby-sitters Club series). He was a comics editor for Nickelodeon Magazine from 1998 to 2009.
