Biography[edit]

Jeans began playing drums from an early age and started playing live in various covers bands. From 1993 he studied music in Perth under Ronny Goodman. Between 1993 and 1995 he played drums in The Artisans.

In October 1998, Jeans took a full-time job with The Complete Stone Roses, a The Stone Roses tribute act. He toured with the band throughout the UK and Ireland until August 2001. In early 2002, he was asked by old school friends David and Stuart Nicol to join their band The Zephyrs, going on to play live with the band and drumming on the album A Year to the Day (2004). In the summer of 2003, Jeans was asked to play drums with Arab Strap on their international tour. David also played on the band's final album The Last Romance (2005). In 2017 he rejoined Arab Strap for their Summer/Autumn festival tour. In 2018 he performed with RM Hubbert and Arab Strap's Aidan Moffat in gigs following the release of their joint album Here Lies the Body.

Jeans teaches drumming to people of all ages in Edinburgh.[2]
