Delhi Public School Ghaziabad (DPSG) is a private educational institution in Ghaziabad, India, established in the year 1980. The school has consistently been ranked the best in the city of Ghaziabad, and amongst the best in Delhi-NCR and the country for the past few years. It was ranked the third best day school in India, in terms of academic reputation by the EW Day Schools Survey, 2011. In the early 2000s, DPSG became the first school in the National Capital Region and western Uttar Pradesh districts to receive an ISO certification. The school is built on approximately 15 acres (61,000 m2) of land, and features an enrollment of approximately 3000.
Delhi Public School Ghaziabad was conceived and founded by Mr. Om Pathak, the then District Magistrate of Ghaziabad in 1980 with support from Sh. Dharamvira and Lt. Colonel Dr. GPS Waraich, the then Principal of DPS, Mathura Road.
The Delhi Public School Ghaziabad Society was promoted and registered under the Presidency of Sh. Dharamvira, the then president of the Delhi Public School Society, New Delhi with Sh. Naresh Bajaj, Sh. Om Pathak, Lt. Colonel Sadhu Singh, Sh. R.K. Agarwal, and Lt. Col. Dr. GPS Waraich as members.
The present Society has Padamshree Sh. Satish Kaura as President, Sh. H.L. Goel as Vice President, Sh. Naresh Bajaj as Chairman, Sh. Om Pathak as Vice Chairman, Sh. V.P. Kaura as Secretary and Sh. R.K. Agarwal as Treasurer.
The school commenced operations in a hired building in Raj Nagar on 5 September 1980. The foundation stone of the new building was laid by Sh. Dharamvira, on the 19th of April, 1981 and soon thereafter, the school shifted to its present locale. The school has made steady progress over the past 28 years. Since its affiliation to the CBSE in 1985, 21 batches of class XII have passed through the portals of the school. DPSG is the first school in NCR to get ISO 9001:2000 certification by the international body Det Norske Veritas.
In the past three decades the school has established its own identity at the National and International level. In the year 1999 another branch of DPSG was set up in Vasundhara- a beautiful school, which has created a place for itself within the vicinity.
With an aim to serve the under privileged in society, The DPSG Disha has started its operations in Noor Nagar, Ghaziabad in the year 2009.
The DPSG International, set up in the year 2008, is a new project of the Society which will cater to international standards of education. The Society is in the process of expanding further in order to reach out to a larger group of residents of Ghaziabad and areas in the vicinity, fulfilling the vision and mission to which the society and school stand committed.
The entire school is housed in three spacious buildings, the Senior School building, the Junior School building and Admin. The Junior School runs classes from Pre-Nursery to Class V, the Secondary School from Class VI to Class X and the Senior Secondary School from Class XI to XII.
The Senior School is equipped with all the facilities needed in a Senior Secondary School for doing well in the Board examinations. These include Modern Science laboratories, various activity centers of work experience, Library, Computer network, Internet and LCD Labs.
The school has city-wide transportation services for its students and teachers. It has a large campus with full facilities. The sports infrastructure includes a basketball court, cricket/football field, badminton courts, and several other facilities. The school also has a 1000+ capacity coliseum and a 150+ capacity open-air amphitheatre for cultural events. It also has two air-conditioned auditoriums meant for literary and other small-scale events. There are campus-wide wireless networks, and the classrooms are smartclass-enabled. The teachers extensively use computer aided techniques of teaching and every teacher has been provided with a laptop from the school. The 15-acre (61,000 m2) campus is divided into three wings: primary (grades nursery-five), secondary (grades six-ten) and senior secondary (grades eleven-twelve). The junior or primary wing has another subdivision—the Early Childhood Education wing (or Starz)—for classes nursery to one.
The school has a well stocked library. A large number of Indian and foreign journals, magazines and newspapers are subscribed to. New books and CDs are added to the library every year.
Activity Blocks include Senior Activity Block houses Science Laboratories, Computer Lab and LCD Lab. Junior Activity Block accommodates six huge rooms for various activities like art and sculpture, dance, music etc.
The schools has two huge fully air conditioned auditoriums equipped with all facilities for dance, theater and other literary functions.

The school has a vast sports complex on the campus which includes a full-sized play ground, two hard court and four turf cricket pitches for net practice and three main pitches for the matches. 400 m 8 lanes track, four Basketball, two Handball, two Tennis courts, a large Skating rink, a Hockey ground, an indoor Table Tennis facility and two Gymnasiums. The school holds annual tournaments in Football, Cricket and Basketball in which eminent school teams from all over India participate.
Sports and traditions
Each wing holds separate events and functions. The annual function of the primary wing—Kiddofest—has been held annually since 1997. The secondary and senior secondary wings attend an annual "cultural extravaganza" held in either October or November. The school theatre club—Rang Chhaya—is active all year to support these functions. In addition to these school functions, Rang Chhaya has participated in and won several zonal- and national-level events. The literary committee is also active throughout the year, holding its own gamut of literary events. The Inter Public School (IPS) Debate was started in 1990 and now stands as one of the most prestigious school debates in India. The annual sports festival is held during the first week of December, along with the annual prize-distribution evening. The school has also hosted many national level sporting events, due to having the appropriate infrastructure and capacity.
In the cultural arena the school has created a niche for itself in the region. The school organizes three major functions during the year which encourages 100% participation of children - Annual Function (for classes VI to IX), Kiddofest (Annual Function of Primary wing) and Annual Prize Distribution every year. Apart from these the school also organizes Inter House Competitions in various cultural, literary and sports activities. The school band "SOULS" remains active throughout the year performing at all major events and functions of the school.
The school has seven houses named after seven important rivers of India, viz.- Ganga, Ravi, Cauvery, Jhelum, Sutlej, Yamuna and Godavri.
The school caters to the IT invasion and its relevance as a life skill by providing the latest technology in the form of laptops for each teacher, interactive board with LCD projector in each classroom and IT savvy faculty. Well equipped computer laboratories, LCD rooms, 24-hour connectivity and its own website. The objective is techno-integration in the school through CAL, CLP and self-learning program.
DPSG is the first school to implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) which is a complete school management and resource planning solution. It encompasses time-tested effective techniques to enable qualitative all-round improvement in the student and the school. It empowers the students, teachers and school to achieve more with the different assessment tools, reports and online information. Its implementation will enhance the overall productivity of the Students and School alike.
The school has a separate section for E-Library which is equipped with a number of computers and a powerful server which connects it to a large number of libraries of the world. The students and staff may give a request to the E-Librarian for a particular topic and information is made available to them immediately. School has its own bandwidth through RF link.
The school curriculum is based on three basic domains of education i.e. cognitive domain, affective domain and psychomotor domain.the school offers many foreign languages like Chinese , Japanese , French , German , Spanish
Numerous opportunities for self-expression are made available to the students through creative writing and public speaking. The school publishes an Annual Magazine 'DHRUV' and Newsletters at regular intervals. Students are encouraged to write articles both in Hindi and English for publication in these journals.
Values The school organizes Inter House Competitions in debating, declamation and recitation both in Hindi and English. Quiz competitions are also held to enhance students' General Knowledge and awareness. The school promotes students' participation in these activities at the Inter School, State and National Level. Founder's Day Inter Public School Debate in English is a very popular feature in the vicinity. Reputed schools from Delhi, NCR and neighbouring states participate in it.
In the results of XII Boards 2011-12, The school produced All India CBSE Topper.
