Below is a partial list of minor league baseball players in the Detroit Tigers system.

Victor Alcántara

Victor Alfonso Alcántara (born April 3, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization.

Alcántara signed with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as an international free agent in May 2012. He made his professional debut with the Dominican Summer League Angels that year. He spent 2013 with the Orem Owlz and 2014 with the Burlington Bees.[1] In 2014 he was selected to represent the Angels at the All-Star Futures Game.[2][3] Alcántara started 2015 with the Inland Empire 66ers. The Angels added him to their 40-man roster after the season.[4]

After the 2016 season, the Angels traded Alcántara to the Detroit Tigers for Cameron Maybin.[5]

Tyler Alexander

Tyler John Alexander (born July 14, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization.

Alexander attended Carroll Senior High School in Southlake, Texas and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 23rd round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. He did not sign with the Tigers and attended Texas Christian University (TCU), where he played college baseball.[6] After his sophomore season, Alexander was again drafted by the Tigers, this time in the second round of the 2015 MLB Draft.[7][8]

Alexander made his professional debut with the Connecticut Tigers.[9] He started 2016 with the Lakeland Flying Tigers and was promoted to the Erie SeaWolves during the season.[10]

Sandy Báez

Sandy Báez (born November 25, 1993) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization.

Báez signed with the Detroit Tigers as an international free agent in October 2011.[11] The Tigers added him to their 40-man roster after the 2016 season.[12]

Chad Bell

Chadwick Micah Bell (born February 28, 1989) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization.

Bell attended South-Doyle High School in Knoxville, Tennessee and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 25th round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft. He did not sign and attended Walters State Community College. He was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 37th round of the 2008 MLB Draft but again did not sign and returned to Walters State. He was then drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 14th round of the 2009 MLB Draft and signed.

In May 2016, Bell was traded to the Detroit Tigers for Bobby Wilson.[13] The Tigers added him to their 40-man roster after the season.[14]

Beau Burrows

Beau Van Burrows (born September 18, 1996) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization. He attended Weatherford High School in Weatherford, Texas.[15][16] He was selected by the Tigers in the 1st round of the 2015 MLB draft.[17][18][19]

Burrows spent the 2015 season with the GCL Tigers, where he posted a 1.61 ERA in 28 innings pitched. After his success in the Gulf Coast League, Burrows was promoted to the West Michigan Whitecaps for the 2016 season, where he posted a 6-4 record with a 3.15 ERA.[20]

Mike Gerber

Michael J. Gerber (born July 8, 1992) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Detroit Tigers organization.

Gerber was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 40th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft out of Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois. He did not sign and attended the Creighton University to play college baseball. He was then drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 15th round of the 2014 MLB Draft.[21] He made his professional debut with the Connecticut Tigers and also played with the West Michigan Whitecaps. Gerber spent 2015 with West Michigan and played in the Arizona Fall League after the season.[22][23]

Grayson Greiner

Grayson James Greiner (born October 11, 1992) is an American professional baseball catcher in the Detroit Tigers organization.

Greiner played college baseball for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks from 2012 to 2014. He played in 179 games during his career, hitting .278/.358/.435 with 18 home runs.

Greiner was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the third round of the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft.[24][25] He signed with the Tigers and made his professional debut with the West Michigan Whitecaps.[26] He played in 26 games before a broken hamate bone in his left wrist ended his season. He hit .322/.394/.444 with two home runs.[27] Greiner spent 2015 with the Lakeland Flying Tigers, where he struggled, batting only .183 in 89 games. However, Greiner improved greatly in 2016, where he split time between Lakeland, the Erie SeaWolves, and the Toledo Mud Hens, where he posted a combined .293 batting average, 7 home runs and 42 RBI's between the three clubs.[28] After the season, the Tigers assigned Greiner to the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League.

Myles Jaye

Myles Joseph Jaye (born December 28, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization.

Jaye attended Starr's Mill High School in Fayetteville, Georgia and was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 17th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft. On January 1, 2012, Jaye, along with Daniel Webb, was traded to the Chicago White Sox for Jason Frasor.[29] In December 2015 he was traded to the Texas Rangers for Will Lamb (baseball).[30] The Rangers then traded him along with Bobby Wilson to the Detroit Tigers for Bryan Holaday in March 2016.[31]

The Tigers added Jaye to their 40-man roster after the 2016 season.[14]

Joe Jiménez

Joe Alexander Jiménez (born January 17, 1995) is a Puerto Rican professional baseball pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization.

Jiménez signed with the Detroit Tigers as an undrafted free agent out of the Puerto Rico Baseball Academy in June 2013. He made his professional debut that year with the Gulf Coast Tigers. He spent 2014 with the Connecticut Tigers and started 2015 with the West Michigan Whitecaps.[32][33] During the 2015 season, Jiménez went 5–1 with a 1.47 ERA, a 0.791 WHIP and 17 saves in 40 appearances for West Michigan, and was named the Tigers Minor League Pitcher of the Year.[34] During the 2016 season, Jiménez went 3–3 with 30 saves and posted a 1.51 ERA, an 0.80 WHIP, and a .144 batting average allowed with 78 strikeouts over 53 23 innings between the Lakeland Flying Tigers, Erie SeaWolves and the Toledo Mud Hens, and was named the Tigers Minor League Pitcher of the Year.[35]

Austin Kubitza

Austin Michael Kubitza (born November 16, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization.

Kubitza attended Colleyville Heritage High School in Colleyville, Texas.[36] He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the seventh round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft. He did not sign and played college baseball at Rice University from 2011 to 2013.[37][38] In 2011, he was named the Most Outstanding Player at the Houston College Classic.[39] In three years, he went 20–14 with a 2.34 earned run average (ERA) and 309 strikeouts in 289 innings.

Kubitza was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the fourth round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft.[40] He signed with the Tigers and made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Tigers and also played for the Lakeland Flying Tigers. Pitching for the West Michigan Whitecaps in 2014, Kubitza was named the Tigers Minor League Pitcher of the Year after going 10–2 with a 2.34 ERA.[41][42]

His brother, Kyle Kubitza, plays in the Atlanta Braves organization.[43]

Jairo Labourt

Jairo Snaider Labourt (born March 7, 1994) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization.

Labourt was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays as an international free agent for $350,000 in August 2011.[44] He made 12 starts for the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays in 2011, and posted a 0–4 record with a 2.23 earned run average in 3613 innings.[45] Labourt played the 2012 season with the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays and went 0–3 with a 3.79 ERA over 12 starts totalling 38 innings.[45] Continuing his rise through the minor league system, he played all of 2013 with the Bluefield Blue Jays and earned his first professional win, finishing the season with a 2–2 record and an impressive 1.92 ERA over 5123 innings.[45] Labourt began the 2014 season with the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts, where he struggled in his 6 appearances (3 starts) and pitched to a 6.43 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 14 innings.[45] He was then reassigned to the Low-A Vancouver Canadians and made 15 starts for the team, posting a 5–3 record with a 1.77 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 7113 innings.[45] His 1.77 ERA was the lowest mark in the Northwest League, earning him the 2014 ERA title.[46] On October 1, Labourt was named the number 3 prospect in the Northwest League by Baseball America.[47]

On July 30, 2015, Labourt was traded to the Detroit Tigers along with Daniel Norris and Matt Boyd in exchange for David Price.[48] Labourt was assigned to the Dunedin Blue Jays prior to the trade. The Tigers added him to their 40-man roster after the season.[49]

Montreal D. Robertson (born June 19, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization

Robertson was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 29th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft out of Coahoma Community College.[50] The Tigers added him to their 40-man roster after the 2015 season.[49]

Christin Stewart

Christin Gaylin Harris Stewart is an American professional baseball left fielder in the Detroit Tigers organization. He played college baseball for the University of Tennessee. The Tigers drafted him in the 34th overall in the first round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft. Baseball America wrote that he has a "physical frame and produces above-average bat speed (that) combined with the natural leverage in his swing, translates into plus raw power".[51]

Stewart is 6 feet tall and weights 205 pounds. He attended Providence Christian Academy in Lilburn, Georgia, where he hit 69 home runs throughout his high school baseball career, including 26 as a junior, which was a Georgia state single-season record. During three seasons at the University of Tennessee, Stewart batted .319 with a .962 OPS during three seasons in Tennessee. During the 2015 season, he batted .311, hit 15 home runs and 47 RBIs in 50 games during his junior year in 2015. Stewart was selected by Detroit with the compensatory pick they received after losing Max Scherzer as a free agent during the previous off-season. He was the second player drafted by Tigers in the first round of the draft, after Beau Burrows.[51] Stewart signed with the Tigers,[52] and spent the 2015 season with GCL Tigers, Connecticut Tigers, and West Michigan Whitecaps, where he posted a .285 batting average with 10 home runs and 44 RBI's. Stewart started the 2016 season with the Lakeland Flying Tigers and was later promoted to the Erie SeaWolves. Stewart posted a .255 batting average with 30 home runs and 87 RBIs. His homer total tied him for fifth among all Minor Leaguers in all organizations, while his 24 home runs, .534 slugging percentage and .924 OPS in 104 games at Lakeland led the Florida State League. He was named the Tigers Minor League Player of the Year.[35]
