"Devotion" is a 1974 song by R&B band Earth, Wind & Fire, which was written by Maurice White and Philip Bailey. It is included on the band's 1974 album, Open Our Eyes as well as their live 1975 album Gratitude.

"Devotion" peaked at numbers 23 and 33 on the Billboard R&B and Pop Singles charts.[1]


Covers and samples[edit]

In 2004, jazz fusion/contemporary jazz group Pieces of a Dream featuring Tracy Hamlin covered the song from their release "No Assembly Required."[2] "Devotion" has been sampled by Yo-Yo featuring Ice Cube on the track "You Can't Play with My Yo-Yo" featured on her album Make Way for the Motherlode.[3] Drake sampled "Devotion" on the track "Glow" featuring Kanye West on his playlist More Life. Hip Hop collective Mo Thugs also sampled "Devotion" for their 1996 single "Thug Devotion" on their debut album Family Scriptures. Rapper Paradise sampled the song of the same name from the soundtrack to the 1997 crime drama film Gang Related.
