Diary of a Female President is an upcoming American comedy television series created by Ilana Peña that is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2020.[1]


Diary of a Female President is told through "the narration of a Cuban-American 12-year-old girl's diary, as she navigates the ups and downs of middle school and her journey to becoming the future president of the United States."[2]


On January 31, 2019, it was announced that Disney+ had given the production a straight-to-series order for a first season consisting of ten episodes. The series was created by Ilana Peña who was also expected to write for the series and serve as an executive producer alongside Gina Rodriguez and Emily Gipson with Robin Shorr serving as showrunner. Production companies involved with the series were slated to consist of I Can and I Will and CBS Television Studios.[2][3][4]
