Francisco López-Medina (12 de diciembre de 1992), better known for his stage name Ale Medina GTM, is a Salvadoran reggaeton artist. Born in San Juan Opico, El Salvador. He moved to the United States with his family in 2006. At the beginning of his career he was part of a popular duo, Javiel & Jc. The duo made songs that became popular between fans of reggaeton in the United States, El Salvador and other countries in Latin America.[1]

Biography[edit]

Ale Medina was born in El Salvador, at a short age his family moved to the United States and he was raised in the state of Virginia. He grew up listening to different music genres. His favorite group/band when he was younger was Grupo Niche, a famous salsa group. Ale Medina was always a fan of the urban genre. He fell in love with the style of music at the beginning of 2000's. He started listening to Tego Calderon and Vico C, who inspired him to pursue a career in music.

Career[edit]

After moving to the United States, Ale Medina decided to follow the steps in music through Reggaeton. He was part of a Reggaeton duo; Javiel & Jc. The duo signed with La Comision PR. Javiel & Jc also collaborated with the Puerto Rican duo; Layton & Jaziel in 2011, with the track "Tu Recuerdo". With this track Javiel & Jc were one of the first salvadorean artist to feature in the popular promotional website "FlowHot". They also collaborated with the singer and producer Seiz from Canada. Nelson J. Rubio and Francisco A. Lopez used to make up the duo that was active from 2008 to 2011.[2]

Javiel & Jc raised good critics with their music. The career of these two young rappers was growing quickly. Among their best tracks stand out "Vuelve" and "Tu Recuerdo", these two tracks with the past of time collected more than 100,000 views on the internet.

So much was their popularity that you could see them in local TV shows, radio,[3]opening for bigger artists and private events. More was expected from the young talented duo. Despite of being a growing duo in the industry, Javiel & Jc never did an official studio album. After the split at the end of 2011, Ale Medina continued his music career as a solo rapper, collaborating with a few other producers and rappers. The most noticeable song released as a soloist was a collaboration in 2013 with Dj Maumix. The song was called "Amiga".[4]
