Areté Music Academy (Greek: ἀρετή), is a music school in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. The school’s name “Areté” can be translated as “reaching one’s fullest potential” or “being the best one can be.”
It is an early member of Royal Conservatory Founding Schools [2] and a testing center for The Royal Conservatory. It was founded and organized by Juilliard alumni in the summer of 2010. Arete Music Academy is committed to providing music education to students of all ages, and specializes in classes and private lessons in music for children and adults at every level of experience. Their faculty is comprised of artists who have received formal training from universities such as Juilliard School, Yale School of Music, Curtis Institute of Music and Columbia University. The school facilities, designed by Harbor Projects[3], include classrooms, music studios, and a recital space.

As written on its website, Areté Music Academy's mission is to "enrich each individual by developing their innate musicality and creativity through a high standard of music education and to inspire success so that each student may achieve their fullest potential as artists, leaders, or global citizens."[4]
Programs[edit]
Areté Music Academy provides a variety of lessons for musical development. These include private lessons, early childhood music classes, beginner instrumental group classes, chamber and vocal ensembles, summer programs, and seminars for adults. Students are able to hold year-end recitals, and faculty and student concerts are also hosted throughout the year. One-on-one instruction is offered for many instruments, including piano, violin, cello, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, and classical guitar, among many others. Students may also be trained in music theory, music production, DJ performance, and ear training.[5]
Areté Certificate Program[edit]
Areté Certificate Program is an elective program for students who are enrolled in private lessons at Arete Music Academy. With the Certificate Program, students can enroll in classes such as ear training, music theory, vocal ensemble, chamber ensemble, and jam sessions. According to its website, all the electives are designed to foster musicianship and the development of discipline, self-esteem, teamwork, and leadership.[6]
