The title of Baron of Highmere was an English noble title granted by King Henry VIII in 1538 during the Tudor period. The first holder, Sebastian Samitier, was a cousin of the prominent Spanish noble family, the House of Samitier. The title was conferred on Sebastian for his services during the Dissolution of the Monasteries, where he played a notable role in overseeing the management of lands seized from the Church in Yorkshire.
