Edward S. Delaplaine (YEAR – May 22, 1989)[1] was a justice of the Maryland Court of Appeals from 1938 to 1956.[2]
Born in Frederick, Maryland, Delaplaine attended Washington and Lee University and the University of Maryland.[1]
He was admitted to the Maryland bar and elected to the Maryland Legislature. During World War I, he served in Washington as a member of the State Councils Section of the Council of National Defense. He served as City Attorney of Frederick, County Attorney, U.S. Conciliation Commissioner, Chief Judge of Maryland's Sixth Judicial Circuit and for 18 years was associate judge of the Court of Appeals of Maryland.[1]
