Gesine Catharina Magdalene Schröder (born 1957 in Wilster) is a German musicologist who has been teaching music theory at the Institut für Komposition und Elektroakustik of the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien in Vienna from 2012.

Career[edit]

Schröder studied from 1976 at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin, including music pedagogy, cello, music theory, with Christian Möllers and Hartmut Fladt, among others. Simultaneously, she studied German studies and musicology at the Free University of Berlin and der Technical University of Berlin.[1]

Schröder was a lecturer at the Hochschule der Künste from 1985 to 1991, and at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Weimar from 1991 to 1992.[1] She has been teaching music theory at the Institut für Komposition und Elektroakustik of the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien in Vienna from 2012.[1]
