On February 5, 2014, Chirakkal Radha, a 49-year-old sweeper at the Congress block committee office in Nilambur, was brutally murdered inside the congress office in Nilambur.[1] [2][3] The missing of Radha was recorded in the police station and body was found on February 10, 2014, in a pond at Chulliyode near Nilambur. The autopsy revealed severe injuries, indicating that Radha was tortured by having a broom handle inserted into her private parts before being strangled to death. The Kerala Police identified B.K. Biju Nair, former personal assistant to state minister Aryadan Muhammed, and Kunnasseri Shamsuddin as the main suspects. In April 2021 the high court acquitted Biju Nair and Shamsuddin . The judgment stated the prosecution failed to prove the guilt of the accused. Numerous appeals registered to the court against the judgment and acquittal of the accused.[4] [5] [6]
