Sanjeev Beniwal (born 14 November 1966) is an Indian politician currently serving as a member of the 16th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, representing the Bhadra Assembly constituency as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.[1] He previously served as an MLA from 1998 to 2003 and again from 2013 to 2018 from the same constituency.[2]
Political career[edit]
He started his political career by contesting in the 1998 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election from the Bhadra constituency as an INC candidate and was elected as an MLA. This marked the first time in 30 years that a Congress candidate had won in the Bhadra constituency[2]
In the 2013 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election, he once again contested from the Bhadra constituency as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party and was elected as an MLA.[3]
During the tenure from 2013 to 2018, he served as a member of the Committee on Local Bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions. This committee covered various decisions and aspects related to the local bodies and Panchayati Raj institutions of the state.[citation needed]
Following the 2023 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election, he was re-elected as an MLA from the Bhadra Assembly constituency, defeating the CPI candidate Balwan Poonia by a margin of 1,132 votes.[1]
