The Flux Capacitors are an American cover band formed in Los Angeles in 2013 by Ryan Silverberg and Brian Lanzarotto.[1]. The band is named and themed after characters and events from the Back to the Future franchise, and is notable for its pop culture integration including writing music for the mobile game Ghostbusters: Afterlife ScARe[2][3][4][5], performing with celebrity guests, being featured in Universal Fan Fest Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, and being active in the Back to the Future fan community[6]. The band primarily plays popular music from the 1980s and 1990s, while also including music from popular film and TV franchises such as Back to the Future, The Lost Boys, Labyrinth, and Parks and Recreation.

Celebrity Guest Members

[edit]

The Flux Capacitors regularly collaborate with celebrity guest musicians, most frequently performing with guest singer Danny Cooksey[7][8][9] and other Salute Your Shorts and Nickelodeon alumni Venus DeMilo, Alisa Reyes, and Phil Moore.

In 2016, at the height of the mobile game Pokémon Go, The Flux Capacitors performed the Pokémon television series theme song, and the unreleased Pokémon Go theme song with the original singer Jason Paige[10][11][12][13][14][15]. Jason Paige's YouTube channel credits The Flux Capacitors as being the first band he has performed the Pokémon theme along side.[16]

In 2025, The Flux Capacitors collaborated with Gerard McMahon to perform his song Cry Little Sister from the 1987 film The Lost Boys at San Diego Comic-Con[17][18] and other events themed around The Lost Boys franchise[19][20][21]
