El Balyana (Coptic: ⲃⲩⲗⲓⲁⲛⲏ, ⲧⲡⲟⲩⲣⲁⲛⲏ[1], Arabic: البلينا) is a small town in the Sohag Governorate of Upper Egypt. Located on the west bank of the Nile, it is situated near the ancient Egyptian city of Abydos.
