Eugene Kangawa

Eugene Kangawa (寒川 裕人, Kangawa Yūjin) is a contemporary Japanese artist living in New York. Since in college, he represented installations which comprise video, photograph, and so on. His approach, which is focusing on process and featuring live-action and using found footage is getting attention as the young auteur following the style of Steve McQueen.

In 2013, he participated Serpentine Gallery's project. In 2014, he widened his appeal to the world such as holding installation collaborated with the master of minimal music, Terry Riley, and joining urban plan with an architect, Shigeru Ban. Besides his activity as an artist, he co-found ON,Inc. a think tank which engages in concept designing and visualizing it and is convened from urban planning, R&D department's projects.
