Event:NYC Wiknic on Roosevelt Island

Join us for a casual summer Wiknic on Roosevelt Island on Sunday, August 24th from 2pm to 7pm. This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow Wikimedians. All are welcome!

The Wiknic (Wikipedia-Picnic) will include food and drinks but bring a potluck item of your choice to share. You're welcome to bring board games to add to the fun!

Please dress for the weather and bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating, we will be having this picnic on the grass.

All attendees are subject to Wikimedia NYC's Code of Conduct.

Details & agenda

• Date: Sunday, August 24, 2025
• Time: 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm (come by any time!)
• Location: Roosevelt Island (FDR Hope Memorial at Southpoint Park).
  • The F train stops there
  • The tramway connects to 2nd Avenue Manhattan
  • The Astoria line on the NYC Ferry connects to Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx

If you get lost and can't find the main group, text or call (214) 945-4692, that is (214) WIKI-NYC. In case of inclement weather, we will instead gather at our usual venue, Prime Produce (424 West 54th Street).
