Fabrício Santos Simões (born 26 December 1984), simply known as Fabrício, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays for Recreativo da Caála of the Girabola as a striker.
Career
After several spells with lower league Brazilian clubs, Simões moved to Portugal in 2006 with Madeiran club Câmara de Lobos where he remained for one season. The following few seasons saw him move frequently threw several lower league clubs like Machico, Benfica Castelo Branco and Operário before moving to first division side União de Leiria.
In January 2011, after a successful first half of the season with Operário where he scored 16 goals in 19 games, Simões moved to Primeira Liga side União de Leiria.[1] He debuted for his new club on the 6 February in an away league fixture against Olhanense.[2] The following week after his debut he scored in a 1–0 victory over Nacional da Madeira.[3]
In the summer of 2011, after failing to establish himself at União de Leiria, Simões joined G.D. Estoril Praia on a season-long loan. His season with Estoril saw him make 32 appearances in which he contributed six goals to help his side gain promotion to the top flight of Portuguese football.[4] Despite Simões' contribution towards Estoril's promotion, the Canarinhos decided not to purchase the player on a permanent basis and returned him to União de Leiria. Following his return to União de Leiria, the club terminated his contract and granted his release,[5] which led him to sign for Segunda Liga side Sporting da Covilhã on a free transfer.[6]
He made his official debut for his new side on the 28 July in a Taça da Liga fixture against Arouca where Simões helped himself to a hat-trick in a 4–2 win.[7] His stay with the Leões da Serra proved to be successful as he managed 16 goals in 46 appearances. On the 29 June, Simões left Sporting da Covilhã for Angolan side Recreativo da Caála.[8]
