Falck Renewables, a limited company, is an Italian renewable energy project developer with a UK-based subsidiary under the same name. Its core business is to construct and operate wind farms primarily in Italy, the UK, Spain and France. Falck Renewables is a subsidiary of the Falck Group, an Italian company based in Milan. Founded in 2002 it has become a major player in supplying energy from renewables sources in Europe. It currently has over 400 MW of wind generation in operation.
Falck Renewables was started in 2002 as part of the Falck Group of energy generating companies specialising in producing energy from renewable sources. Falck Renewables manages construction and financing of all its projects and has sole responsibility for wind farm ownership and operation. The company built its first commercial wind farm in the UK at Cefn Croes in Wales in 2005, using 39 GE turbines, each of 1.5 MW capacity. Other farms operated in the UK include Ben Aketil, Boyndie, Earlsburn, Kilbraur and Millennium.
Falck Renewables has now developed and constructed 12 wind farms in the 4 countries, with more than 400MW of capacity. In addition, it has projects on its books totalling another 400MW, at various stages of development.
Falck Renewables has offices in Milan, London, Inverness and Rennes.
