Federica Mogherini (16 June 1973) is an Italian politician and current Minister of Foreign Affairs. She was appointed to this post on February 22, 2014 by prime minister Matteo Renzi. She is the third woman to serve as Foreign Minister of Italy, after Emma Bonino and Susanna Agnelli.

The Minister graduated in Political Science at La Sapienza University of Rome with a thesis in Political Philosophy.
