English: Photo of the 1200 L Apartment Building (now the Inlet Tower Hotel) in Anchorage, Alaska, showing damage received during the 1964 Alaska earthquake. The Mt. McKinley Building was built at roughly the same time (ca. 1951-1952) with an almost identical design at the opposite corner of Anchorage proper (at the time). It suffered far greater damage, being closer to a slide zone. That building was purchased by Neil MacKay shortly after in a "fire sale, was rechristened the McKay Building and is currently known as the McKinley Tower. |
