An early-medieval gold mancus of Ecgberht of Wessex (802-839), in the same design as the silver penny of the Saxon Monogram type dating to c828-839 (Naismith W5), moneyer: Bosa (BOZA), Wessex mint (probably Southampton or Winchester). Ref: cf. Naismith 2011: plate 103, W5a-b (esp. W5a).

Obverse: Saxon Monogram with + ECGBEORHT REX.

Reverse: + BOZA MONETA. equal GOD'S COIN
