Nederlands: Deze 'Afrikaanse banjo' heeft 4 snaren, die over een kam naar het uiteinde van de klankkast lopen. Op de hals is een 'capo tasto' bevestigd: een apparaatje waarmee de vibreerlengte van de snaren veranderd kan worden. De klankkast is gemaakt van een gebruikt blik (een voorbeeld van zg. 'tweede gebruik') en met leer bedekt. In de hals zijn strepen ingebrand (frets) om aan te geven waar men de vingers moet neerzetten om een bepaalde toon te verkrijgen.
Dit instrument wordt door kinderen gemaakt en bespeeld, en worden 'ramkies' genoemd. (Het instrument ziet er nieuw en ongebruikt uit; de kam en de stempennen zitten er nog op, wat bij oudere en gebruikte instrumenten meestal niet het geval is.) |
