Summary
| Description |
English: Ensignbus bus 164 (reg. M264 SGY), a 1995 Volvo Olympian double decker with Alexander Royale bodywork, pictured at Showbus 2004. This vehicle was originally delivered to London Central as their AV class, No. AV9 (single-door configuration), registered M89 MYM. After a few months it was re-registered with a cherished plate, WLT 789, previously belonging to Routemaster RM789, which had been withdrawn that year by London Central to provide parts for RML2499 (RM789 was eventually scrapped in 1997). AV9 was withdrawn into storage by April 2003, that October it was returned to a standard registration, this time M264 SGY as pictured here. Ensignbus purchased it in December 2003, although by 2004 it had been sold again, to ply its trade as part of the First Group empire, renumbered 34264, and seeing service in Manchester followed by Scotland. |
