Español: Escudo del Departamento de Santa Cruz (Bolivia) y de la ciudad de Santa Cruz de la Sierra:
  «Tiene la forma clásica del escudo español, o sea rectangular, con los lados mayores de arriba abajo, los ángulos inferiores redondeados y el lado inferior terminado en punta, en su centro. Sobre la figura lleva una corona ducal, que simboliza la herencia nobiliaria española. La figura es acuartelada, está dividida en tres cuarteles; con una cruz potenzada de color rojo en su centro por insignia principal, que representa la Cristiandad y el nombre de la ciudad y gobernación. En el cuartel superior izquierdo, con fondo azul claro, aparecen tres palmeras de totaí, símbolo de la riqueza vegetal de nuestras praderas, asimismo tres etapas históricas: Fundación, primera traslación y segunda traslación de la ciudad; y en el cuartel inferior izquierdo, con fondo verde, aparece un árbol de toborochi con el tallo perforado en forma de habitáculo, simbolizando la hospitalidad del cruceño. En el cuartel superior derecho, con fondo azul claro, aparecen dos cruces entrelazadas, que simbolizan a las dos ciudades hermanas de Santa Cruz y San Lorenzo, y en el cuartel inferior derecho, con fondo blanco, aparece un león rampante, símbolo de nobleza, bravura y majestad. Debajo de la gran cruz, entre los cuarteles inferiores, aparece una torre de castillo almenada, que simboliza grandeza y protección militar»
 – Escudo otorgado por el rey de España Felipe IV a la ciudad de Santa Cruz de la Sierra, mediante Célula Real de 7 de noviembre de 1636.
 – Es también escudo del Departamento de Santa Cruz por Resolución N.º 1, de 11 de enero de 1985, del IV Congreso de Comités Cívicos Provinciales de la Cruceñidad y por Decreto Prefectural N.º 11/85, de 23 de abril de 1985, del Prefecto del Departamento.
English: Coat of arms of the Department of Santa Cruz (Bolivia) and of the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra:
 – Coat of arms granted by the King of Spain Philip IV to the city of San Lorenzo Real de la Frontera, today called Santa Cruz de la Sierra, by Royal Cell of November 7, 1636.
 – It is also the coat of arms of the Department of Santa Cruz by Resolution No. 1, of January 11, 1985, of the IV Congress of Provincial Civic Committees of Cruceñidad and by Prefectural Decree No. 11/85, of April 23, 1985, of the Prefect of the Department.
