Notes
  • Significance: Washington Street is the National Road, or U.S. 40, as it passes through Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. This major commercial artery is home to many important nineteenth and twentieth century buildings and forms the southern edge of the potential Circle Center Historic District. As evidenced by the demolitions and new construction for the Circle Center Mall development project, the area is continually evolving to meet the needs and desires of the central Indiana resident.
  • Survey number: HABS IN-266
