Summary

Description
English: Frederick Municipal Airport (KFDK) in Frederick prior to the new control tower construction; as seen from the traffic pattern altitude of 1,300 MSL (1,000 AGL) in a Cessna 172. Runway 5/23 runs from the bottom center to the top right of the image; the other runway is 12/30. On this day, 30 was favored by winds; normally 23 is preferred. The VOR is also visible as the white object below and near the center of runway 5/23. A bit beyond the mountains in the distance is Prohibited Area 40 (P-40), or the special use airspace surrounding Camp David.
