No date for this image is supplied by the archival source. The steamer North Star shown in the image, was built at Jennings Montana in 1897 and operated on the Kootenay River in Montana and British Columbia from 1897 to 1902, when North Star was taken through the canal at Canal Flats to Columbia Lake to operate on the uppermost reach of the Columbia River. J.D. Farrell is reported to have been laid up at Jennings, Montana from 1899 to 1901, so a date of ca 1900 seems correct for this image.
