English: Leavesden Studios. Leavseden Studios occupies the site and buildings of the former Leavesden Aerodrome. The land was requisitioned by the Ministry of Supply in 1940 from Watford Corporation, and the site was developed as a wartime aircraft manufacturing facility and airfield, with two main factory complexes and a 1000 yard long runway. Rolls-Royce continued to manufacture helicopter engines at the factory, and the airfield remained open for private leisure flying, until 1994. The site was then sold and converted into its current use. Scenes from various James Bond, Star Wars, and Harry Potter films have subsequently been filmed there. The site occupies most of TL0900 and this view was taken from Aerodrome Way looking northwestwards. The former airfield control tower is visible over the trees at the left end of the left building.
