Summary
| Description |
English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
The farewell of governor P.J. Plateel in the building of the New Guinea Council in Hollandia, in the presence of a.o. Papuan people. Afterwards he is send off by the highest UN-official José Rolz-Bennett, brigadier Saidoe din Khan and Pauan people from the Sentani airport. After inspecting the guard of honour of the Pakistani UN-troops and a platoon of the Papuan police, he gets on the Dakota that will take him to Biak. Several days later he arrives with a DC-8 on Schiphol Airport, where he is greeted by his wife, sons and State Secretary T.H. Bot. 48 hours after Parteel's departure the Dutch rule of New Guinea is turned over to the UN.

Afscheid van gouverneur P.J. Plateel in het gebouw van de Nieuw-Guinea-Raad in Hollandia, in aanwezigheid van oa Papoea's. Vervolgens wordt hij op het vliegveld bij Sentani uitgeleide gedaan door de hoogste UNO-functionaris José Rolz-Bennett, brigade-generaal Saidoe din Khan en Papoea's. Na de erewacht van Pakistaanse UNO-troepen en een peloton van de Papoea-politie te hebben geïnspecteerd, stapt hij in de Dakota die hem naar Biak zal brengen. Enkele dagen later arriveert hij met een DC-8 op Schiphol, waar hij door zijn vrouw, zoons en staatssecretaris T.H. Bot wordt begroet. 48 uur na het vertrek van Plateel wordt het Nederlands bestuur over Nieuw-Guinea aan de VN overgedragen. |
