Summary

Description
English: The territory of the Free Imperial City of Regensburg. Cropped from a map of the Bavarian Circle by Johann Baptist Homann published in 1728 by his heirs (Homann Erben). On maps, a black double-headed eagle next to the name of a city indicates its status as a free imperial city.

On this map, it looks as if the city's territory extended north of the Danube river to include Stadtamhof (Bayrisch Hof on the map). In fact, that town belonged to the Duchy of Bavaria.

Title and other details on the map: Bavariae Circulus et Electorat. in suas quasque Ditiones tam cum Adiacentibus quam insertis Regionibus accuratißime divisus per Io. Baptistam Homannum, Norimbergae 1728
