Summary

Description Sea Vixens refuelling at the Farnborough Air Show, England, in either 1961 or 1962. XJ571 was built as an FAW1 in 1960 and withdrawn for conversion to FAW2 in July 1964. This aircraft still exists (non-flying) at the Solent Sky Museum, Southampton, Hampshire, England. XN694 was built in 1961, converted to FAW2 in 1965, and scrapped in 1970. Both aircraft are in their FAW1 guise, as the absence of elongated twin booms testifies. The Farnborough show didn't take place in 1963, and the 1964 event was in September, after XJ571 was sent for conversion. Hence, this photo must have been taken at either the 1961 or 1962 shows.
