| Description |
English: The alabaster altar in the Maes-chapel of the St. Michael and Gudula cathedral in Brussels. This shows the Passion of Christ and was made around 1538 - 1541 by Jean Mone. This is one of the first reredos in stone on the Low countries, all previous examples are being carved in wood.
Magyar: A brüsszeli Szent Mihály- és Szent Gudula-székesegyház Maes-káplnájának márványból és alabástromból faragott oltára, amely Jézus keresztre feszítését ábrázolja, Jean Mone alkotása (1538 - 1541 körül). Érdekessége, hogy ez az egyik legkorábbi, kőből faragott oltár a Németalföldön, ahol korábban általában fából faragták az oltárt, szószéket, stb. Az oltár stílusa olasz, leginkább milánói reneszánsz stílusjegyeket mutat. |
