Description
English: 100th anniversary of the discovery of the archipelago Severnaya Zemlya.
The miniature sheet of Russia, (3 stamps×15 rubles), 4 September 2013, PTC Marka Catalogue No 1732—1734, Michel No 1963—1965 (Block 189). Offset printing, silver paste. Perforation: frame 12×12½ and 12½×12. Size of the miniature sheet: 136×80 mm. Size of single stamps: 37×26 mm (No 1732, 1734), 26×37 mm (No 1733). Print run: 80,000 miniature sheets.
The archipelago Severnaya Zemlya was discovered in 1913 by the Arctic Ocean Hydrographic Expedition led by Boris Vilkitsky (1885–1961).
The stamps feature the ships of the Arctic Ocean Hydrographic Expedition, the icebreaking steamers Vaygach (No 1732, on the left) and Taymyr (No 1734, on the right); the portrait of the head of the expedition, the Russian hydrographer and surveyor Boris Vilkitsky (No 1733, the central stamp).
The landscape of Severnaya Zemlya is depicted on the margins of the miniature sheet.

На полях блока – пейзаж архипелага Северная Земля.
