Description
English: A typical shop in Yanaka, Tokyo. Rob Ketcherside writes (on Joe Mabel's Flickr page):

"This is a rice shop. Name is Shounai-ya. Each of the green signs is in front of a bag of rice and shows the price he sells for. Sometimes rice shops have vending machines for rice outside, this one just has soda.

"The rice vending machines you put your bucket underneath, put in some coins and turn and the rice comes out."
