Summary
| Description |
English: A two-pound naval cannon dated from 1748 and bearing the "VOC" monogram of the Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie (Dutch East India Company). This cannon, now at the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town, South Africa lay in 300 fathoms (550 metres) of water, 29 miles (about 50 km)[1] south-west of the Cape of Good Hope for over 200 years before being recovered in 1961. It is about 50 cm high.
