Summary

Description
English: WIKITONGUES - Opoka speaking Acholi. Recorded in Uganda. Acholi is spoken by more than a million people, primarily in the east African nations of Uganda and South Sudan. A variety of the Southern Luo dialect continuum, it is closely related to Adhola, Kumam, Dholuo (Kavirondo Luo), Alur, and Lango, with a considerable degree of mutual intelligibility. Song of Lawino, an epic poem and iconic piece of modern African literature composed by the Ugandan poet Okot p'Bitek in 1966, was originally written in Acholi. Read more on Wikipedia.
