Long Shot is an upcoming American comedy film directed by Jonathan Levine. The film stars Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron.[2]

It will have its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 9, 2019. It is set to be released on May 3, 2019 by Lionsgate.

Fred Flarsky, an unemployed journalist, battered by his own misfortune and self-destructive ways, courts his childhood love interest and babysitter - who is now one of the most powerful and unattainable women on earth.

In February 2017, the project, then titled Flarsky, was announced with Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron attached to star while Jonathan Levine directs.[2] In October 2017, O'Shea Jackson Jr. was cast.[3] In November 2017, June Diane Raphael, Ravi Patel, Andy Serkis, Alexander Skarsgard, and Randall Park joined the cast as filming commenced in Montreal.[4][5][6] Scenes were filmed in Plaza de la Trinidad in Cartagena, Colombia in the end of January 2018.[7] In January 2019, it was announced the film had been retitled Long Shot.[8]

It will have its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 9, 2019.[9] Originally slated to be released on February 8, 2019,[10] it was reported that the film, following highly positive test screenings, was pushed back and would be released on June 7, 2019, now positioned as a summer tentpole.[11] It was then moved up to May 3, 2019.[12]
