Father George Kandathil SJ (25 December 1920 – 7 November 2011) is the pioneer of transactional analysis (TA) in India. He is the founder of triology. He was trained by Muriel James and Claude Steiner, first disciples of the psychiatrist Eric Berne, the generator of TA.

Fr. Kandathil established the Institute of Counseling and Transactional Analysis (ICTA) at Kochi, Kerala, India in 1973. It is the pioneering institute in India which offers systematic training in counseling and TA. Additionally, the institute provides training to people in areas such as human resource development, especially in the areas of education, counseling and psychotherapy and organizational development.
