Version Control is software that maintains a "project". A project can be one single file worked by one person or 1000 people all around the world. A project can also be 1000 files being worked on by 1 person or a thousand from all over the world, or on a single computer. To maintain means to store, and track any and every change that occurs in any of the "project files". Revision Control keeps track of who changed what, where, and is able to undo changes if later wished so.
