Overview[edit]

The stadium was opened during the Soviet period in 1963 as Lernagorts Stadium, being home to Lernagorts Kapan. It remained under the ownership of the town council until 2004, when it was privatized and sold to the former of president of FC Gandzasar Kapan Garnik Ohanjanyan.[2]

By the end of 2008, the stadium went under a major renovation. The playing pitch was modernized and new seats were installed.
