GlobeNewswire is an American press release distribution company, headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

A NASDAQ OMX Group subsidiary since 2006, it is a newswire distribution network. Formerly known as PrimeNewswire, the company changed its name to GlobeNewswire in 2008 to better reflect its international scope.[1]


According to its website, the company specializes in the delivery of corporate press releases, financial disclosures and multimedia content to the media, investment community, individual investors and the general public.[2]

In 2012, GlobeNewswire introduced its Streaming Media Player, which allows users to alternate between videos and slides while monitoring a variety of news sources.[3]
