Goongerah (37°20′56″S 148°41′56″E / 37.349°S 148.699°E) is a community on the Brodribb River, located in Gippsland, Australia, near Mt Ellery. The town's population is about sixty.
Goongerah's main industry is timber, which has led to controversy and protests in the past. It is well out of reach of television signals, and telephone and electricity are rarities amongst its homes.
Goongerah has one of the smallest primary schools in Victoria, with about 8 students.
Goongerah is home to GECO (the Goongerah Environment Centre Office), which is dedicated to conserving and managing the Old Growth Forests in East Gippland.
