Heather Lauer is the writer of the Bacon Unwrapped blog and the book Bacon: A Love Story: A Salty Survey of Everybody's Favorite Meat.


Bacon Unwrapped, which she started in 2005, celebrates bacon.[1]

Her blog features various dishes and discussion bacon. She began it as a joke, but said, "I started to realize there is something about bacon that gets people incredibly excited, and that was fascinating to me."[2] She completed a cross-country bacon tour of America,[2] and updates her site with the latest in bacon oddities.


Her book Bacon: A Love Story: A Salty Survey of Everybody's Favorite Meat, was published in 2009.[3] It features a tour of country-style bacon outfits, profiles bacon-loving chefs, includes a "Bacon 411" resource section, has cooking tips and has 20 bacon recipes.[4]
