The Hopedale Medical Complex is a community medical center located in Hopedale, Illinois. Founded by Dr. Lawrence Rossi in 1955, the hospital and surrounding facilities are owned and operated by the not-for-profit, charitable corporation known as The Hopedale Medical Foundation. The complex offers a continuum of medically related services, including a modern acute care hospital, a nursing home, independent and assisted living, and a large (34,000-square-foot or 3,200-square-meter) Wellness Center.
Hopedale Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital. There are a total of 25 beds that are interchangeable between acute care and swing bed services.
Hopedale Hospital provides extensive services including: 24 Hour Emergency Services, Intensive Care Unit, Surgical Services, Orthopedic Services, Cardiopulmonary Services, and Diagnostic Radiology (Imaging Services).
Hopedale Commons is an independent and assisted living facility totaling 88 units. The Commons is located next door to the hospital, nursing home, physician offices, and wellness center, making it easier for the elderly who prefer to live close to medical care. The Commons are divided into Independent ( Commons East) and Assisted (Commons West) living buildings.
Commons East is an independent living community with twenty-six (26), apartments. Individual accommodations offer one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartments, each with their own kitchenette. Three meals per day are provided, so residents only need accommodations for light meals or snacks in their apartments.
Commons West has forty-four (44) apartments for Assisted living.
Hopedale Nursing Home
Hopedale Nursing Home is a 52 bed licensed facility offering 24-hour nursing care. It is physically connected to Hopedale Hospital and to physicians' offices by a common corridor for the convenience of our residents and their families. The 26-room Hillman Pavilion addition was added to the Hopedale Nursing Home in fall of 2000 offering private accommodations.
In 1956, the late Dr. Lawrence J. Rossi, Sr. envisioned a unique facility that would provide superior long-term care for the elderly. After years of careful planning, his dream became a reality with the opening of Hopedale Nursing Home; the FIRST nursing home in the state designed from original plans.
Today, Dr. Rossi’s commitment to delivering unparalleled senior care continues. Thanks in part to a memorial gift from the Elmer and Viola Hillman estate, an addition to the original nursing home was built in August of 2001. The Hillman Pavilion wing offers 26 private rooms for a total of 52 homelike rooms all designed with our residents’ comfort in mind. In addition, Hopedale Nursing Home is conveniently located for family and friends. Situated in the beautiful and peaceful community of Hopedale, Illinois, Hopedale Nursing Home is only 30 minutes from Peoria, Bloomington, Pekin, and Lincoln.
The Hopedale Nursing Home recently completed a $250,000 renovation, which included all new floor coverings, new paint, and new window coverings. The Nursing Home was recently re-surveyed by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and was found to be in compliance with all regulations, thus receiving NO TAGS ! The Hopedale Medical Complex is very proud of our caring, compassionate staff, which has served Hopedale since 1957. We hope that the new renovation will help keep our property one of the best kept secrets in Illinois.
