ID: Invaded (イド:インヴェイデッド, Ido: Inveideddo) is an original Japanese anime television series by NAZ that is directed by Ei Aoki and written by Ōtarō Maijō. The series premiered on January 5, 2020. A manga adaptation by Yūki Kodama was announced on September 4, 2019.[2]

The anime takes place in a world where investigators have the power to tap into a killer's unconscious and see fragmented parts of their psyche. This is referred to as an "ID-Well", a mental plane that can be digitally entered to collect clues regarding a killer's victims, crime scenes, and even motives. As one traverses through an ID-Well, their sights and actions appear as digital projections in the real world for investigators to analyze in real-time. Since a person's unconscious thoughts are rarely organized, everything within an ID-Well appears in a fractured or symbolic state, including the people and locations, and can only be temporarily put together by someone investigating the ID-Well. Additionally, ID-Wells can only be entered by victims or other killers.

Field analysts assist ID-Well investigators using a tool called "Wakumusubi", a sort of handheld radar gun that detects and collects "cognition particles", a person's intent to kill. The scanner can be programmed to collect the killing intent of a specific criminal, and then add that information to the killer's ID-Well. This helps in fleshing out the killer's ID-Well so that it can be investigated more thoroughly.

The anime follows the investigations of Sakaido, a renowned detective tasked with diving into the ID-Well of notorious serial killer the "Perforator", named after his gruesome style of killing victims by drilling a hole in their head. While hunting down the Perforator's motives, Sakaido also attempts to solve the murder of a mysterious girl named Kaeru. He is also depressed from the murder of his daughter that took place two years prior, but finds a break in the Perforator case that links to her murder. Meanwhile, rookie field analyst Hondomachi's life is also put on the line when she becomes the latest victim of the Perforator.
