Imran Abbas is a Pakistani actor and former model. He is known for his leading roles in television serials including Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan (2009), Khuda Aur Muhabbat (2011), Mera Naseeb (2011), Dil-e-Muztar (2013), Alvida (2015), Mera Naam Yusuf Hai (2015) Tum Kon Piya (2016) and Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai (2017).[2][3] Abbas made his film debut with a leading role in the 2013 romantic drama Anjuman. The following year, he appeared in Bollywood's monster horror film Creature 3D, which earned him Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut nomination.

Early life and career[edit]

Abbas studied architecture at the National College of Arts in Lahore. He also writes Urdu poetry.[4] His family settled in Lahore, Pakistan[5] after the independence in 1947.[6] Abbas entered into Pakistani dramas and then became very popular through Pakistani[7] telefilms, soaps and films. He has recently stepped into the Indian film industry Bollywood.[8][9] He made his Lollywood debut in 2013 with Yasir Nawaz's romantic drama Anjuman, a remake of the 1970 film of the same name, opposite Sara Loren, which was a commercial success.

Bollywood career[edit]

Abbas made his debut in Bollywood opposite Bipasha Basu in Vikram Bhatt's Creature 3D, for which he was nominated at Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut category.[10] In 2015, Abbas featured in Jaanisaar directed by Muzaffar Ali alongside Pernia Qureshi.[11] As of September 2015, Abbas has completed war thriller Abdullah: The Final Witness alongside Sadia Khan. The film was screened at the Cannes Film Festival, and was released in 2016.[12] He also appeared in the same year in Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
