Jørgensen was one of three companies studied in a case study  for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. The aim of the study was to reveal the effects of rush-hour traffic on transportation of goods.
The company was founded in 1946 by Arthur Jørgensen. In 1977, the company was taken over by his son, Ivar Jørgensen who still works within the firm.
